TWENTY EXCITING THINGS TO DO IN NORTHERN IRELAND IN JUNE

1. Taste Summer Ards and North Down, various locations across Ards and North Down, County Down, 17 – 28 June. Celebrate the best of local food and drink at Taste Summer Ards and North Down, a vibrant multi‑day programme showcasing the region’s exceptional seasonal produce. The festival shines a spotlight on the rich food heritage of the Ards Peninsula, promoting local producers and sustainable food culture, including the Comber Earlies Food Festival (20 June).

2. Summer Solstice at Navan Centre and Fort, Armagh, County Armagh, 20 and 21 June. Celebrate the longest days of the year by marking the Summer Solstice at Navan Centre & Fort, Armagh, where ancient ritual, storytelling and fire come together in this sacred landscape.

3. Bluegrass BBQ: Niall Toner Band & Gormacha at Ulster American Folk Park, Omagh, County Tyrone, 21 June. Irish Bluegrass act, Niall Toner Band will be treating us to a rich blend of acoustic Country and Bluegrass music with a Celtic twist. Supported by Gospel and Blues duo, Gormacha, these talented musicians will set the scene for a day of summer fun. Keep an eye out for other dates in the Bluegrass BBQ calendar.

4. W5 Space, Belfast, until 31 August. Step into an immersive training mission at the Space Explorer Academy, where young astronauts are recruited to embark on a journey beyond the stars. Take on cosmic challenges, test your skills through hands-on missions, and discover what it takes to become a true explorer of the universe. Don’t miss W5 Late – Space, taking place on 26 June for an 18+ evening.

5. NNCG Makers Market at Ballycastle Sea Front, Ballycastle, County Antrim, 21 June and more dates. The flagship artisan market by Naturally North Coast & Glens on the beautiful Ballycastle Seafront. This is an excellent showcase of local food, culture, heritage, and traditions, and it is an ideal destination for anyone looking for an authentic experience.

6. Planetarium Sound Journey Under the Stars at Armagh Observatory and Planetarium, Armagh, County Armagh, 21 June. Embark on a journey to explore the Youniverse at our unique Sound Spa, “Sound Journey Under the Stars,” within the Armagh Planetarium Dome. Immerse yourself in a unique experience as you listen to soothing sounds while journeying under the stars and through the expansive cosmos. Let the music transport you to another world as you gaze up at the night sky.

8. Taste Mid Ulster Market, Fivemiletown, County Tyrone, 20 June. Organised by Mid Ulster District Council, the market will showcase the very best of the region’s food, produce, and crafts. Visitors can look forward to exclusive foodie experiences, chef demonstrations focused on local ingredients, and a wide variety of artisan crafts – all free to attend.

9. National Trust’s Florence Court, Florencecourt, County Fermanagh, visit website for open dates and times. Located around eight miles from Enniskillen, Florence Court is one of the most beautiful Georgian houses in the region, nestled against the wild mountain backdrop of Benaughlin and the Cuilcagh Mountains. You can enjoy glorious walks around the grounds and in the gardens, you will find the famous Florence Court Yew – reputedly the ‘parent’ of all Irish yew trees. 

10. Foyle Maritime Festival, Derry~Londonderry, 25-28 June. This four-day festival will transform the riverfront into an international marina with all the tastes, colours, scents, sights and sounds that come together to create this epic experience with an exhilarating programme of entertainment, activities and interactive events.

11. Armagh City Summer Walking Tours, County Armagh, visit website for available dates and times. Armagh is an ancient compact city soaked in myths, legends, history and heritage. One of the best ways to discover more about the story of this city and its citizens from the pre-Christian era up to modern times is to book a guided walking tour which will take you through the city centre at a leisurely pace, stopping off at various locations on a route of approximately 1 km, taking approximately 2 hours.

12. Dobbins Dander & Dine, Carrickfergus, County Antrim, 26 June. Join an expert local resident tour guide on a walk beginning in the shadow of Carrickfergus Castle, incorporating the Walls Walk and many fascinating sites around the town with significant stories to be told.

14. Eco Boat Tours of Strangford Lough, Killinchy, County Down, 27 June. Learn about Strangford Lough’s world renowned eco system, become a sustainable user of our coasts, and take in the stunning and peaceful scenery. Partnering with Sam, a marine biologist from Coastal Catchups, we are offering a new experience that focuses on the wildlife of Strangford Lough.

15. The Argory Summer Fete, Moy, County Armagh, 27 – 28 June. This year’s fête invites visitors to step back in time and enjoy a traditional summer celebration on our historic grounds. Across the weekend, we will have a variety of activities for all ages, including vintage‑style games, craft stalls, live entertainment, family activities, and opportunities to explore the estate in a relaxed, festive atmosphere.

16. Ferguson Tractor Day at Ulster Folk Museum, Holywood, County Down, 27 June. Celebrate the heritage of the Ferguson Tractor at the Ulster Folk Museum, with ploughing and cultivating demonstrations using vintage Ferguson tractors. 

17. Earth Yoga – In The Heart Of The Marble Arch Cave, Florencecourt, Count Fermanagh, 28 June. Join us for a unique experience as you get in touch with your inner yogi in a beginner-friendly 60 minutes yoga session in the depths of the Marble Arch Caves. Relax body and mind as we connect to nature inside the cave with an inviting and inspiring class welcome to all levels

18. Walled City Alive, Derry~Londonderry, month of June. Walled City Alive presents a programme of animation, arts and culture taking place throughout June. The programme includes music, dance, storytelling and hands-on creative activity, encouraging locals and visitors alike to engage with the stories and heritage of the Walled City of Derry in a creative way.

19. Music on the Lawn – Crescent City Jazz Band at Mount Stewart, Newtownards, County Down, 28 June. Sit back and relax for an afternoon of New Orleans-style jazz at Mount Stewart as the Crescent City Jazz Band kick your Sunday off in style. 20. Cushendall Artisan Market, Cushendall, County Antrim, 28 June. Visit the Naturally North Coast and Glens Artisan Market at the Boat Club Car Park in Cushendall this summer. The stallholders are themselves producers – people who grow, make, create, style, rear, craft, design or bake the products that they sell. Featuring a wide range of products including ceramics, street food, garden products, local produce and speciality food, art, handcrafted gifts, wood turning, pet products, gifts for children, cosmetic products and so much more.
