A SURVEY by AirHelp has uncovered a major knowledge gap among UK air passengers.

While 81 per cent of travellers say they’re aware they have rights when flights are delayed or cancelled, only 28 per cent can correctly identify when they’re actually entitled to compensation.

The findings suggest millions could be missing out on payouts simply because they don’t fully understand the rules. With disruption still common across peak travel periods, experts warn that awareness alone isn’t enough, passengers need clarity.

AirHelp is a consumer rights platform that tracks global flight disruption and helps travellers better understand their rights when journeys don’t go to plan. Having supported over three million passengers worldwide, it regularly shares data-led insights on travel trends.
