AIR Canada has relaunched its popular seasonal service between Dublin and Vancouver.
The route resumption comes as Air Canada gears up for one of its busiest ever transatlantic schedules, with nearly 50 routes between Europe and Canada, including three from Dublin Airport.
Air Canada’s first flight of the season, AC919, departed from Dublin Airport on Sunday May 4, arriving into Vancouver International Airport just nine hours later*.
To mark the annual resumption of this important route, Air Canada has announced a further capacity increase on the route, in addition to the existing capacity increase announced in February of this year, owing to increased demand for travel to British Columbia.
The news comes following the announcement that Dublin Airport’s passenger cap has been temporarily suspended, allowing the global airline to operate additional flights to Vancouver.
The new bumper schedule means that Irish customers travelling to the Canadian metropolis can choose from up to five weekly flights, an increase from three in previous years.
Also, originally planned June to September, Air Canada have extended the operations season to May to October, allowing even more customers the chance to get a taste of Canada.
While the previously announced peak schedule of five weekly flights was planned for June to September, this news confirms that customers can benefit from five weekly flights all the way through to mid-October.
Bláithín O’Donnell, Air Canada Sales Manager, Ireland, said: “We’re thrilled to be expanding our service between Dublin and Vancouver this summer, in response to growing demand for travel to Canada.
“We have slowly been increasing capacity throughout the year, in line with customer demand, but as the first flight of the season departed Dublin this weekend, we wanted to further strengthen our commitment to the market, by upping frequencies throughout the autumn.
“Whether Irish customers are traveling for business, leisure, or to visit friends and family across the Atlantic, customers can benefit from a seamless transatlantic experience with Air Canada.”
